Pet Cars Terms & Conditions

These terms and conditions constitute the entire Agreement concerning the provision of a transfer service (“Service”) between you and Pet Cars. Completion of the reservation and use of the Service indicates your unconditional acceptance of the terms and conditions set out in this Agreement.

1. Definitions

“Pet Cars” means the Pet Cars company, business address 24A Fortune Green Road, London NW61UE, holding the website petcars.co.uk email address info@petcars.com

“you” and “your” means any individual, company or other business who places the booking with us. Please note that companies wishing to make a reservation will require a named individual to make the reservation.

2. Booking

2.1 You must allow sufficient time when booking your car to allow for any appointment times, check-in times required by your airline or similar and for any delays caused by traffic conditions. Pet Cars shall not be responsible for any delay caused by your failure to allow enough time to reach your destination or if the passengers are not ready for collection at the booked time.

2.2 Pet Cars will email or SMS you a quotation based on the information supplied by you. All prices are exclusive of VAT (not applicable). Pet Cars may amend the quotation if there is any change to the original itinerary.

2.3 If you accept the quotation, you will receive confirmation of your booking by email or SMS. Please check your booking confirmation carefully and inform Pet Cars promptly of any errors. Pet Cars shall not be responsible for any delays caused or costs arising from by your failure to provide Pet Cars with correct information.

2.4 Please note that Pet Cars is a pet transport service, NOT a minicab or licensed taxi service. Fares are paid solely for transportation of pets.

3 Prices & Payment

3.1 Payment options are:

• Direct transfer (details on request)
• Paypal (there is a 6% surcharge for the Paypal payment option).
• Cash on collection/ delivery

The available payment options for each booking will vary depending on proximity to the pickup time. Please discuss with us at the time of booking.

3.2 SURCHARGES

Waiting time is charged at 30 pence per minute.

Other charges where applicable:

London Central Congestion Charge, Mon – Fri, 7AM – 6PM (£11.00)
Outside hours surcharge, Mon – Sun, 7PM – 7AM (£25.00)
Destructive behaviour charge, where applicable: from £100.00
Cleaning charge, where applicable: from £50.00
UK Public Holiday surcharge (£25.00)

4. The Service

4.1 Please provide Pet Cars with as much information about your pet as possible including any behavioural problems. A deposit to cover destructive behaviour may be required. Pet Cars cannot carry pet crates or cages which are larger than the standard airline dimensions. Crates for dogs and cats can be provided for which a small surcharge will apply (see Prices and Payment below).

4.2 Pet Cars cannot carry animals with serious medical conditions or infectious diseases.

4.3 Pet Cars cannot contravene parking, waiting or other traffic regulations or leave the car unattended – in certain situations receiving party may be required to collect the pet from the car.

4.4 Please provide Pet Cars with as much information about your pet as possible including any behavioural problems. A deposit to cover destructive behaviour may be required. Please advise Pet Cars of any previous aggression your pet has shown towards people or other pets or of any veterinary or behaviour change in your pet that may affect their interaction with people or other pets.

4.5 Please ensure that your pet is fully vaccinated and is up-to-date with flea and worming treatment where applicable.

4.6 In the case of an emergency you authorise Pet Cars to seek veterinary care as appropriate. You agree to accept full responsibility for the cost of all veterinary care and to settle any fees directly with the veterinarian involved.

4.7 You shall be responsible for the behaviour of all the pets in the car during the journey. A minimum cleaning/ damage charge of £50 will apply to cover cleaning costs in the event of the vehicle being soiled or damaged by any animal.

5. Cancellations

If you need to cancel your reservation, please contact Pet Cars as soon as possible. In the event of a cancellation the following refunds to the customer will apply:

96 – 72 hours prior to pickup time: 75% of total
72 – 24 hours prior to pickup time: 50% of total
Within 24 hours of pickup time: 0% of total

6. Liability

6.1 Pet Cars shall use all reasonable endeavours to get to your destination on time, but shall not be liable for any loss due to delays caused by road or traffic conditions beyond its control on the journey. Under no circumstances shall Pet Cars be liable (in contract, tort or otherwise) for any loss of profits, business or for any indirect or consequential loss whatever.

6.2 All luggage is carried entirely at your risk.

6.3 Pet Cars shall be entitled to cancel all services and provide refunds in the event of a declared national emergency, riot, war, fuel shortage, extreme weather or terrorist attack, or other circumstances beyond its control. If the car breaks down during your journey Pet Cars will endeavour to arrange an alternative car to complete the journey as soon as practicable.

6.4 You shall indemnify Pet Cars against all losses, costs, damages and expenses arising from any act or omission of any passenger in your party.

6.5 Neither party excludes or limits its liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for wilful default or fraudulent misrepresentation, or otherwise in any manner unenforceable by any applicable law.

6.6 Pet Cars accepts no liability for pets which are abandoned with Pet Cars due to non-acceptance of the pet at the delivery address for whatever reason or due to failure of your designated agent to complete collection of the pet. In the event of a pet being abandoned with Pet Cars we will endeavour to contact you using all contact details provided. Abandoned pets will be handed over to the local authority pet warden at which point all further dealings regarding recovery of the pet must be with them and rests with you the customer.

6.7 Pet Cars requires that all pets excluding dogs are placed securely inside a rigid container or carrier prior to collection. The owner or handler shall be responsible for ensuring that all pet containers or carriers are 100% securely fastened, preferably with padlocks or cable ties where possible. Pet Cars will not be responsible for putting pets into containers or carriers or handling of pets at the collection or delivery address. Pet Cars requires all owners or handlers to deliver the securely fastened container or carrier directly to the Pet Cars at time of collection and to collect said container or carrier directly from the Pet Cars at time of delivery. The owner shall be responsible for any defect or fault in operation of the container or carrier during the journey.

6.8 Pet Cars will not accept containers or carriers that cannot be locked, such as non-rigid carriers.

7. Termination

Pet Cars will refuse or terminate any booking with immediate effect if it places any driver or vehicle at risk of damage or violence. No refunds will be given if the journey is terminated part way through the hire.

8. Miscellaneous

8.1 Pet Cars may subcontract its obligations under this Agreement. You shall not assign, transfer or delegate any of your rights or obligations under this Agreement.

8.2 Pet Cars may change these terms and conditions at any time online. Please review these terms and conditions regularly to ensure that you are aware of any changes. All existing bookings will be at the rate quoted or applicable rate in effect at the time of booking.

8.3 Pet Cars shall store, process and use all information regarding your personal details in accordance with the requirements of the Data Protection Act 1998.

8.4 This Agreement and any accompanying quotation represents the entire agreement between you and Pet Cars in relation to its subject matter. If there is any discrepancy between the terms of this Agreement and the quotation, the terms of this Agreement shall prevail.

8.5 Nothing in this Agreement is intended to confer any benefit on any third party, whether pursuant to the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 or otherwise, and no third party shall have the right to enforce any rights under this Agreement except where otherwise agreed in writing.

9. Disputes

This Agreement shall be construed in accordance with English law and you and Pet Cars each agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts in respect of any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with this Agreement.
